Have you played with Google Maps Street View yet? Just look up your address and click on "Street View" and you can "drive" down the street, seeing actual sights! There's even an "inappropriate" button to report things that shouldn't be seen.
Can you imagine the size of disk farm that must house this application? Google has even applied for a patent to put data centers on ships at sea and harvest the energy in waves for power. Truly green power?!

I really like this street view thing that Google created. It is perfect if your are going to someones house not only do you have the directions but you have a picture to the house and the houses around it. I give it a 5 out of 5.
my brother and i were looking at this one time, and it was pretty hysterical. we were somewhere in tokyo(spelling?). it looked like one of the people looked directly at us and made a face. i know they weren't, but it was a pretty funny thought.
i like the street view so you can get an idea of what landmarks to turn at and i agree from what MNW said because when you're turning onto the street of the house, you know which house to go to rather than having to go slowly and looking at the adress on the mailboxes. if google does do the thing with the ships then it would be not only good for the enviornment but it will decrease our dependency on fossil fuels(hopefully) many scientists and enviornmentalists? will also be pleased with this, just as i am.
Some town in PA found out that google would be out driving in their town and so they stages funny things to be on the street when the car came around. Check it out!
I agree wiht MNW it is very helpful so that you can get a visual and not just words on paper like a mapquest its like a video that is useful
