Have you heard about the ringtone that is so high pitched adults can't hear it? Go here to listen to it for yourselves. I've been told it is a very high whistle sound, but I don't hear it. Ask your parents to listen and reply on this blog how many of them do and don't hear it.

I have someone in my English class who uses that almost everyday, and it's very annoying! I can't believe how desparate some must be to text, especially during class. I'm not the only one, either. At least half the class tells him to shut his phone off whenever it they hear it. I also find it hard to believe that the teacher (who is otherwise very aware) hasn't picked up on what people are talking about.
I cant hear it at all... i dont think im an adult but i guess so.... Does anybody else know why certain people other than adult cant hear it??
It's very weird, clicking that download. I didn't think i would have been able to hear it but i heard it the second time i clicked on it, and now that you mention having someone in your english class who has that set for their ringtone when they get a text, it makes me wonder because we always hear that in my latin class. the ringing is the most annoying thing ever and we always hear it multiple times a day in that bell.
its pretty crazy, and i'm gonna have to actually start listening for it to see if that's what it is.
Yes it is very annoying and it makes my head ache. The strange thing is that only adults aren't suppose to hear it but when someone played it today in class some of use could not hear. Why is that?
The sound that the phone makes when someone has that ring tone set is very annoying. I really dont know why someone would ever want to have that as their ring tone unless they have it in class and they are not trying to get in trouble. It is every annyoying
Ugghhh..it's soo annoying!!! I hate high pitches. But its weird that you cant hear the noise TinkerBell123, but I learned in physics last year that not only adults but some kids cant hear it. It's just a really high pitch and some peple have a ear for it. Likewise, some people can hear lower piches while others can't.
ahhhhhh the pain cant hear it from a distance but it hurts if its anywhere close to me. i think that that would be hard to use.
Im pretty sure if I wasn't listening for it I wouldn't hear it. What a terrible idea for a ringtone
I find the sound very annoying and not very practical. Only kids can use this ringtone at the expense of their own ears. Why have a ringtone that adults can't hear but at the same time you can't stand to listen to?
Good point Kyle. What is the point of annoting yourself and others. Seems like a waster of time.
The only way I can hear the sound is if I'm facing the computer or the source of the sound. If I turn to the right or the left I cannot hear the sound at all.
I agree that the ringtone is VERY ANNOYING and to me it gives me a headache if i listen to it 2 or more times. if some has that as a ringtone for their texting they are either very smart or stupid for having to listen to it. And i can call my self lucky i guess because no one in any of my classes has it as a ringtone for texting. the speaker that we had here at AHS said that many of us are lazy when i comes to working BUT IT AMAZES ME THAT PEOPLE GO TO THESE LENGTHS TO JUST USE A CELL PHONE DURING SCHOOL.
i tried to look up stuff about it and find out why some kids cant hear the ringtone, but i could only find why adults cant hear it. i think it's the same basic concept, for those who cant hear it, like you, TinkerBell, it might be something with the inner part of your ear, like maybe you were born with a less efficiant inner ear, or maybe there is some kind of damage from loud music.
myself? i listen to really loud music all the time and I could only hear it when i was really close to the computer and the volume was all the way up. so who knows, i dont know how loud you listen to your music but maybe thats a factor?
but i dont listen to loud music like at all.... it hurts my ears to listen to loud music so thats not possible.... but still idk if i want to hear though so yeahh....
It's amazing that kids will go to these links and put other people through "ear pain" just so they can text during class without their teachers catching them. Every time I here this ringtone it makes me cringe.
I here this ringtone all the time in class and I HATE it. It's a big distraction and hurts my head. Adults are lucky they can't hear this. Imagine what this ringtone sounds like to dogs.
well, you know, ok, so you dont listen to loud music, like i said it could still be some kind of thing that maybe you got when you were born or maybe something that you have running in your family.
but really, you dont wanna hear it. as you can read in everyone;s comment, no one says that they like the sound, it's a horrible sound.
I agree with Cody J plus putting your phone on vibrate is so much better because I wouldn't hear that ringtone I need the ringtone
This sound is very annoying during class. It's not that you just can't hear it, because everyone can hear it at a younger age. When you grow up, you lose your hearing, making that high pitch tone silent. I can't hear it unless I know who is making the sound, which I think is really odd. I guess if your not looking forward to hearing it, you won't hear it.
My parents can't hear this sound, but my three younge siblings can. It's so weird that my parents can't hear this sound when it's so loud to us.
my dog wasnt freaking out when i tried to see who in my house could hear it but only my sister could..... my dog just was normal
I used to love the mosquito ringtone because it annoyed people. But now i hate it. It annoys me and people overuse it.
My mom could hear it, and my three dogs barked at it, but my dad and my brother couldn't hear it. It was kind of odd, seeing as my brother is only thirteen years old.
i also found, that if you read around the website, it suggests that you listen to the misquito ringtone through headphones. i found that if you use headphones then you are able to hear the ring very, very clearly.
Ashlynn, that's a possibilty, but my head already throbs just from speakers, my head would probably explode if I used headphones.
As for those who were asking why most adults can't hear it, it's because it's such a high frequency. As people get older, their maximum frequency that they can hear lowers.
haha i know, it kills my ears when i know where the sound is coming from and i almost died when i listened to it through the speakers. it was the most horrible thing ever. I don't recomend it, but if you feel you need to hear it, then there's a way to hear it for those who couldnt.
i figure that many people cant hear it because the have had ear surgery..... because i have and i cant hear it
I found it strange that i was the only kid that i know that couldnt hear it. I dont know why i quess i just have bad hearing. Also both my parents couldnt hear it.
