Microsoft bought Skype for over $8 billion a few years back and it's been working on making it even better. Now you can Skype with someone who is speaking in a different language and it will translate it in near-real time. It's called Skype Translator.It always amazes me how much Star Trek had a beat on our needs. Now if we could just get that replicator thing working!

What I want to know is if there is a way to disable it. Like if I was talking to a friend from my german class, and even though they are speaking in german I hear the english. I'd prefer to just hear the german.
I think this idea would be fantastic idea since you might have family and realitives in another place that they are getting used to the language.
Seems almost unreal that technology is coming to this. I look forward to see what the future has in store.
This sounds like a great idea. Making it so that people who speak different languages can communicate is great technology.
