Self Driving Cars
Self Driving cars are being contemplated in some U.S. states. Since 2011, when self driving cars became legal in Nevada, Google has logged nearly 700,000 miles with the cars. The only accidents that have occurred have been because of when the drive took control, or they were the fault of the other driver. You could take naps on your way home from work if you wanted to, or just let the car drive through densely urban areas to get to your destination. Google has been continually testing cars in Silicon Valley, where their headquarters is located. Other states have taken interest in the self driving cars but the problem is who's fault would it be if a driver got in accident while he or she was not driving. Would it be the driver's fault, or the auto makers fault. These are just some of the things that need to be taken into consideration before making them legal to drive on city streets in places like California.

I want one !!!
Seem awesome and super nice to have after a hard day of work.
Honestly i would never purchase a self driving car.Everyone loves to drive, maybe not lazy teen girls but everyone else. I can always trust my on reflexes over those of a computer that is not able to react the way a human can. I see this being a good necesity for the blind but as a person that can see i will never buy one. e
These seem very futuristic. I don't drive yet but I think I would be pretty lazy when comes to driving. Having one of these cars would be great for just about any amount of driving. I don't see this working until everyone has one though. How can these cars react to an accident or quick situation?
I'd want to drive myself because who knows what technical problems we could have, like hacking or malfunctioning.
Sounds awesome, if cars could drive by themselves there's no need for a driver's license. Also the age to "drive" could be reduced. At the same time these might be expensive though, and how does really work. Seems like an idea of the future.
I think that owning a self driving car could have pros and cons. The pros would be parents wouldn't have to drive their kids everywhere they could program the car to pick them up/drop them off. A con would be the car wouldn't have the same instincts as a human driver would, also getting your licences to drive is a right of passage to adulthood and it shows people your are responsible for your and other peoples lives when you are driving
"Buy it, store it."
Name that quote
It feels weird to see something like this because I'm not sure how well the A.I. For the car is good. It's sounds nice and all, but I'm not too sure if world is in need or ready for self driving cars.
@jacksonj I agree with the first part- I wouldn't buy one. However, it would help those who simply cant pass a driving test. Not just us "Lazy Teenage girls." (By the way, thats a little offensive...) I think your thought on the blind was really clever! This would be a whole new era, allowing the disabled to come even further.
I think that this is a really cool idea. It would prevent things like car accidents and traffic jams from happening, if the cars were all able to interact with each other. However this could cause a problem like a major terrorist attack if the system was hacked or messed with causing major car accidents
