I am fascinated with the idea of 3D printers. I feel like we're at the cusp of something that will revolutionize everything in our lives. Like cellphones did about 5 years ago.
3D Printers are almost affordable. Amazon sells them for $1000-2000. I know there are some scary applications (like plastic guns) and bunches of manufacturing applications, but I'm more interested in how this will look inside our homes.
When 3D Printers are just a couple of hundred dollars, what will we use them for? No more going to the store for _____, we'll just print up a new one. (For you Star Trek fans, it like having your very own replicator.)
What will you print?

I definitely think that 3D printers are a great advancement to our society but I think they can come with a price. I believe that people can make great things with them but however people need to be careful and cautious with what they decide and choose to make. One thing that concerns me is the ability to possibly make weapons but besides that I think they are great.
I love these things. My friend has one, however, I feel like it would be smart to have to have a warrant in order to own one. Also, you can make them on your own. If someone you know has one of these, you can print the parts and make one yourself.
I also think that 3D printers would be a good idea for many reasons. For example, I read an article about a kid who printed off a robotic arm since he only had one arm. It saved him a lot of money.
