Touch Screen Devices
Recently many touch screen devices have been coming out and with their popularity rising what is your view on them? Are you for or against them? For whatever side you support give reasons on your opinion.
I've never actually had a touch screen phone before but I could totally imagine them to be quite bothersome. I guess i'm weird, but I cannot stand fingerprints and stuff on my screen of a normal phone, so there's no way i could deal with a touch screen. I mean, they are really awesome, like, i think i would love to have the blackberry storm, but I don't think I could actually deal with it for a while.
it all depends the device. The iTouch is a wonderful touch device but some other devices are bad....such as the Samsung Glyde or the Samsung Omnia (if you are drawing a blank just google the phone).
I have a Voyager phone by Verizon which has a touchscreen on the front and opens up to a full keypad. I love the touchscreen but it does take me a bit longer than on the keypad. But i would never trade in my touchscreen for anything! Its not that hard to hit the right area.
exactly it all depends on the device...kelly, the voyager is one of LG's great touch screen phones along with the dare and vu. Some companies make horrible touch phones without testing the sensitivity of the touch screen.
For example the iTouch is great, my friend has it and i always borrow it just to play arround. But it makes me really mad because when im listening to music the little switch that you have to press to turn the volume up or down is so retarded i can never get it to work.
Yeah, Peter. That volume bar has ridiculous jumps in it. Especially the one like 2/3 of the way to max, where it makes it almost double in volume. And if you try to physically move it, it's so sensitive.
im gonna get an itouch for my birthday and im really excited.... i would guess it would be a little more fun to be able to control wat ur doing in stead of regular ipod cause u can only do so much with the spinny thing (idk if it has a name haha) but it seems easier
I agree with Ashlynn. Touchscreen devices look really cool, but I couldn't stand fingerprints all over my screen. Besides that I think a touch screen would be cool to have.
i have the ipod touch and the sprint instinct and i agree with Tierney with the accuracy but also if i text fast on the instinct it laggs majorly and also they both need internet connections to do most of what they can do like internet and getting the weather forcast. and the ipod touch you need to know how too access the network or you don't get much out of it besides music and a few other apps.
I love touch screens! They are aweseome. Many people know and talk about the new itouch but there is now the first touch screen computer made by hp. Sure it has its draw backs like accuray. But it frees up desk space and offers convience in a new high tech way.
I personally really like touch screens. I have used the ipod touch before and i never had a problem with it. I could definately see texting being a bit of a problem on touch screens but thats about it.
I have an LG Vu and I like it a lot. Accuracy isn't really a big problem because you can calibrate the screen to work best for the way you hold it. Every once in a while you will have small issues though. And I agree about the finger prints being annoying, but they are easy to clean off.

I think touch screens are very difficult and if you miss the area you want to click on you could do something you didn't want to.
I got an iPod Touch for Christmas, and as awesome as it is, I agree with Tierney on clicking accuracy.
but they are pretty cool..... accuracy could be a little better like phones u try to text some one phone you get phome its really difficult!

i personally dont own a touch screen anything but i think they are really nice except for the accuracy like everyone said before me.

I hate the fingerprints, too, so I carry the cleaning rag it comes with at almost all times. Sure, it's a burden, but it works.

touch screens are sweet because of how different it is compared to what we are used to

I really hate touch screens. They are dirty and hard to use. I agree with tinkerbell the areas are to small for your fingers.

I agree with luken. If your fingers are greasy or dirty, then the screen will get dirty to. I also think that touchscreens are hard to use.
I have an ipod touch and voyager which are both touchscreens, and I have never had a problem with them. They are great.
they have a nintendo ds and sprint touch phone
