Vista Out, Windows 7 In

From PC World:

Windows 7: Due out Jan 2010

Click here to view full-size image.Whether you love Vista or hate it, the current Windows will soon go to that great digital graveyard in the sky. After the tepid reception Vista received, Microsoft is putting a rush on Vista's follow-up, known currently as Windows 7.

What is it? At this point Windows 7 seems to be the OS that Microsoft wanted to release as Vista, but lacked the time or resources to complete.

What are your experiences with Windows Vista?

This is very true. I run vista on my HP laptop and it is slow. My Dell desktop runs XP,is twice as fast as my laptop and is 2 years older than it.

I agree with you Matt. One of my neighbors uses vista and dont like it at all. I like the xp much better because it is much easier to use.

I've never been a fan of Microsoft, but I'm not so hot on Apple, either. I personally use XP on my PC, but I'm open to most new OSs. I've never used Vista, and I have no intention of using it. I don't see any reason to change something that's realitivly bug-free for something that's such an infamously problem.

Perry, I followed your link, and four of those are things I've been hearing about, and I agree with the "I'm a Mac" segment. I laughed at the "It broke too much stuff" comment.

I hope this thing is what they say it will be: fast, and everything vista failed at. I also run vista on my HP computer at home and it the screen frezes 4-5 times a week it is very annoying when i am surfing the web and doing a very important assignment at home. it sometimes makes my restart the computer to work right.

I have a windows Xp and it's never really let me down. My friend uses Vista and he wishes and never wasted his money on it. I had never really had any experiences with Vista, but I don't plan to either.

i have heard that windows 7 is so much better than vista and it is just the mistake of microsoft for making vista so i think that they are giving windows 7 to people that already have existing vista for free
