i think social networks are ok, but you have to be careful for those sick people who like to stalk kids. I only have a myspace to communicate with other people and stuff.
I dont use MySpace, but FaceBook does try to protect you in some ways. It asks you how you know the person you are befriending, to make sure you actually know them. It also gives you the option to keep it hidden from people that are not listed as your friend. Therefore no predators can get your information without you allowing them to.
I really like using Social Networks, but I understand why people don't. I think if you are responsible and know what you're doing Social Networks are fun to have. You just need to know your limit of what to put out on the web.
I'm really surprised that some kids are so immature, that they actually meet up with these people. If you don't KNOW them, why meet them.
As long as your carefull and dont tell too much information about yourself i dont think its that big of a deal. I dont care for them that much and really dont ever use them.
I personally do not like blogs, in my opinion they are stupid, even though I myself have a profile at Myspace I rarely ever use it.
I think social networks are fun. I like talking to people, or looking at pictures. I'm not on there to "meet" people. I only accept people I know. Which I think is fine, if people are meeting people online I think that is a little scary. On Myspace and facebook you can project yourself by making your infomation only visble to your friends. but this thing is, who you accept to be your friend.
I don't think social networks are stupied, but i know people who have profiles in myspace and Orkut, and they are crazy about it. I personally think online social networks are waste of time.
I think the online social networks are a waste of time. Personally the people that came up with them and run them should not be proud of their highways for pedophiles. I believe it was CNN that has a show where they stalk kids who have these accounts. To make a long story short they simply find out ALL of the information about the kids through these networks, stalk, and "kidnap" them with their parents permission. Sure it might be fun to exchange pictures and talk to people but email... hard copy... something besides putting information about yourself ona server for people to see. One might argue that their account is set to "private" that private is not too private to people who know a few short cuts... one can simply spend "a weekend" learning what needs to be done to bypass a private lock on a profile. Stalkers out there are very good... they can look at your conversations with friends such as "how was the game against turpin" and figure out you play for so and so and you'll be going to another game tomorrow night!!! Be careful... the internet is anyone and everyone whether you like it or not.
I think they are all right but these sites are just a little overrated. I think as long as you don't talk about routines that you have, or where you went to other day people can be safe.
I think social networks are alright. Although there are some people out there that try and stalk kids, therfore you should not put any personal information on it.
i think that those networks are kinda stupid because they do not protect people as much as they should
Social networks such as myspace and facebook are a way for people to stay in touch eith friends that they haven't seen in a long time or just to talk to friends. You can also meet new people that are friends of your friends.
